This project is notable for being the first facility shared by both the county and the city. It also represented a major commitment by the county to keep their offices within urban Atlantic City rather than at a suburban location.
The new structure gave the county a more efficient operational structure by consolidating the many county offices that were randomly scattered throughout the city. To develop the building, we engaged in extensive programming and planning with county officials to enable the building to accommodate the rapid growth of the area.
The result is a stunningly modern construction that expertly blends aesthetics and utility. A spectacular two-story atrium connects the city and county areas, with the atrium also serving to link City Hall with Atlantic Avenue, the main street of the Central Business District.
